I was living in downtown Portland when I was in Heat Lorraine; this meant, in part, that practice was never at my place, since a rock band performing would get me evicted in minutes flat. (It also meant I couldn’t play my guitar properly at home, which meant what little practicing I did do couldn’t really be done properly or satisfyingly, which didn’t help anything band-wise.)
But Wilder and Brian and I got together at my place at one point when Edgar wasn’t available and ran through our songs in a more laid-back fashion. This was at a point in the band’s history when there was still a little bit of acoustic element than the loud-and-heavy approach we had by the end, so Brian playing acoustic guitar was not surprising in context.
